Lots going on and I've had lots of homework lately from Jesse (pun intended).  We have some of the siding up, we have a fireplace, insulation and heat are in, drywall is up and being taped/textured, and the cabinets, countertops, interior doors and appliances are ordered.  Forgive my music metaphor, but I think Jesse is just like a conductor keeping his orchestra buzzing along and coming in just when they are supposed to!    This week we're looking at paint and stain, flooring, garage doors, lighting and plumbing fixtures & faucets.

Left:  On one nice day the crew was able to get some of the soffit, facia and siding done.

Below:  Then they decided to move inside.  So we've got our gas fireplace in now . . .

Left:  The doggies think the new drywall is pretty cool.
Here, we're looking toward the kitchen and great room.

Below:  We have a pantry.  Deb's first pantry; and very exciting!
And looking into the dining room beyond.

Sorry I've been a slacker about getting this update done.  The house is still progressing very well, despite Mother Nature trying to blow us all away.  It has been on the warm side, but ridiculously windy.  We have shingles on site, but luckily Jesse decided to wait to finish the roof.  Our neighbor (also under construction) lost around half their roof last week.  Also on site is our siding, soffit and facia, and the electrical and plumbing rough-in work is pretty much done.  We're close to ordering all the cabinets and yesterday we just brought home the new gas fireplace for installation.  Here are the latest pics.

Left:  The house is just about closed-in including roof paper and some of the house wrap.

Below:  And just a week or so later the 2d floor domers are done, the rest of the house wrap is on, and the windows are mostly all installed.   The guys got most of the first floor windows installed in just one afternoon!  Amazing!  This pic is from the back facing south.

Front (left) and rear (below) views with all the nice big windows installed and both
    rear porch soffits framed.

Insulation is underway (makes me itch just to look at it!).
Left:  Small bonus room upstairs (will probably Deb's office, some day).
Below:  Dining Room - our big window has a nice view of Carter Mountain.

New Year - New Blog.  Here is the first installment for 2012.  We've got some plumbing rough-in work done, the roof should be done next week, and Dan and Deb put in a little sweat equity this weekend.

Left:  Much of the sheeting is done.  Hopefully all will be done next week if Mother Nature cuts us a break.

Below:  Just a bit more to go on the garage/bonus rooms roof.

Left:  It seems a bit strange to me, but I do what I'm told.  Jesse said, "go pick out a tub" so I did and there it is.  We don't have a roof or walls yet, but we have a tub!

Below:  Dan and Deb have a bit more sweat equity.  Dan installed all the "hurricane clips" and Deb worked on cleaning up the job site.
